Une inquiétante première glissade

Un départ au galop en allumant les premières mèches du match et une arrivée au trot avec des mines défaites. C’est ce contraste saisissant qui a marqué la fin du match contre le Burkina. La clameur de joie qui devait saluer la première victoire du Sénégal dans les éliminatoires de la prochaine Can s’est transformée en triste soirée. Une nuit avec seulement quelques étoiles rappelant le point du nul ont pu briller mais sans illuminer le ciel. Comme si le Stade Abdoulaye Wade était subitement devenu cet endroit maudit ou l’on ne peut plus afficher le moindre sourire après un match des Lions. Il se déleste progressivement de son grand public qui devient de plus en hostile.

Niger, Algérie, RDC d’abord. Et depuis ce Vendredi le Burkina Faso s’ajoute à la liste de ces pays qui nous contraignent à renoncer toute velléité de souveraineté à la maison. Tel un mythe qui s’effondre le Sénégal paye cash les frais de choix contestables. La copie rendue devant le Burkina a été d’une pauvreté technique inquiétante. Ce match nul contre le Burkina sonne également comme une chaude alerte pour une équipe qui a tenu le haut du pavé au classement africain pendant ces trois dernières années et qui semble amorcer une dégringolade aussi bien pour la Coupe du monde que pour la Can.

Sur les parois du précipice il ne restera plus qu’à ronger nos ongles. Ni le style ni l’état d’esprit ni l’engagement ne nous arriment désormais à la terre ferme. Seule une thérapie pourrait redonner confiance et remettre cette équipe du Sénégal sur les rails. Pendant qu’il est encore temps.
