Ils ont commencé à m’appeler tous les soirs. C’est comme ça que j’ai chopé le virus. Des fois, je participais même à des matchs amicaux entre quartiers. Au début c’était un peu gênant pour moi parce certains me disaient tout le temps ‘’tu es une fille et tu joues au foot’’. Mais j’étais fière parce que d’autres me félicitaient après les matchs et ils disaient souvent que j’étais plus forte que les hommes. Ça me faisait plaisir.

Je n’ai pas eu cette chance. Elle est âgée et elle ne peut pas venir au stade pour me voir jouer. Mais elle a toujours entendu les gens en parler. Au début elle s’y opposait carrément. Elle me disait ‘’ Si tu arrêtes l’école, tu vas directement te marier. Mais lorsqu’elle a su que j’étais déterminée, elle m’a laissée poursuivre mon rêve. Elle me conseille souvent et m’aide beaucoup.

Mon premier match officiel, c’était à Mbour au stade municipal. J’étais aux Dorades de Mbour. Et c’était contre mon club Jappo Olympique de Guédiawaye qui s’appelait Sirènes de Grand-Yoff. J’étais trop petite. Le maillot était trop grand pour moi. J’ai oublié le score exact mais on n’avait perdu ce match de championnat. Il y avait de très grandes joueuses dans l’équipe de Sirènes. L’attaquante Nguénar Ndiaye et Korka Fall l’actuelle capitaine de l’équipe nationale étaient là-bas. Il y avait aussi Mbayang Sow, Oulèye Dièye, Mariama Diédhiou et Anta Dembélé. Et depuis ce jour j’ai gagné sa confiance et ma place de titulaire dans l’équipe.

La Coupe du Sénégal 2023. JOG, mon équipe, a battu AFA de Grand-Yoff 2-0. J’ai joué 90 minutes. J’étais trop contente vraiment puisque c’était le premier trophée sous le nom Jappo Olympique de Guédiawaye. C’était un grand défi pour nous. Nous voulions écrire l’histoire, relever le défi et le niveau.
Votre dernière déception dans le football ?
C’était l’année dernière lors de la finale de Coupe du Sénégal. On a perdu 2-0 contre les Aigles de la Médina. J’étais en baisse de forme et je n’avais pas joué le match.
