Bientôt, le stade Iba Mar Diop sera fermé pour réfection. Pour le reste de la saison, le Jaraaf de Dakar accueillera ses matchs de championnat au stade olympique de Ngor.
Quand Jaraaf joue au stade Iba Mar Diop, le public répond présent. Les gradins sont souvent pleins à craquer. L’ambiance est toujours au rendez-vous. Le seul bémol, le terrain ne favorise pas le jeu.
Souvent les équipes qui se déplace à la Médina ont tendance à adopter la stratégie du bloc bas. En face, Jaraaf est souvent sans solution à cause d’une pelouse en mauvais état.
« Iba Mar est notre fief mais tout le monde sait que le terrain n’est pas pratiquable, en plus c’est petit. Il y a des trous partout, donc ça ne favorise pas le jeu », a déploré Malick Daf.
Cette saison, Jaraaf n’a gagné que deux fois à Iba Mar Diop. Les quatre autre succès sont acquis à l’extérieur.
« Jarraf mérite d’évoluer dans une bonne pelouse »
Maintenant que le stade s’apprête à être fermé pour réfection, le club médinois va migrer vers Ngor où une pelouse bien meilleure attend Malick Daf et ses hommes.
« Ngor, c’est un bon terrain, une nouvelle pelouse. On en avait besoin pour mieux s’exprimer. Je lance un appel à tous les supporters du Jaraaf pour se déplacer en masse à chaque fois l’équipe joue à Ngor. Nous voulons que les joueurs se sentent à domicile », lance le coach médinois.
« Jarraf mérite d’évoluer dans une bonne pelouse. Nous avons des joueurs de qualité qui ont besoin de s’exprimer dans un cadre idéal. Donc, on avait besoin d’une pelouse de qualitié pour bien jouer notre football », dit-il.
Après 16 journées, Jaraaf n’a toujours pas connu de défaite en championnat. L’équipe championne du Sénégal 2018 (dernier sacre du club en championnat) occupe la 2e place avec 28 points (6 victoires, 10 nuls), soit trois de moins que Teungueth FC, actuel leader.
