Metz – Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly : « Ben Yedder, je m’en inspire »

Ailier de formation, l’attaquant sénégalais de 25 ans s’éclate dans son nouveau rôle d’avant-centre au FC Metz. Meilleur buteur de la Ligue 2 (7 buts), Cheikh Tidiane Saly s’est signalé par un triplé, mardi 24 septembre face à Martigues (6-0).

« On est attaquant. C’est le coach qui décide, on doit s’adapter. J’ai beaucoup de plaisir à jouer à ce poste. J’essaie toujours de donner le meilleur de moi pour aider l’équipe et être meilleur. […] J’essaie d’être moi-même », a confié l’ancien joueur de Génération Foot.

Il pense que son gabarit (1,68 m) n’est pas un handicap. « Mes qualités sont différentes. Je ne suis pas un attaquant de grande taille. Il y a de bons numéros 9 qui sont des petits gabarits comme Ben Yedder. Je m’en inspire », ajoute celui qui répond afin aux attentes.

« Je pense que ça va de mieux en mieux. C’est important pour la confiance d’un attaquant. Elle te permet d’être encore plus décisif », conclut-il.
