Arabie saoudite : Riyad Mahrez, meilleur passeur

Transfuge l’été dernier de Manchester City, pour un montant de 35 millions d’euros (23 milliards FCFA), la star algérienne Riyad Mahrez est en train de se faire une nouvelle jeunesse en Arabie saoudite, sous les couleurs d’Al Ahli. Avec 12 passes décisives, le Fennec occupe seul la tête du classement des meilleurs passeurs de la Saudi Pro League, devant les Portugais Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr) et Ruben Neves (Al Hilal), avec 10 assists chacun.

En signant sa 12e passe décisive de la saison face à Al Wehda (1-1), le 5 avril dernier, Riyad Mahrez s’est installé seul en tête du classement officiel des passeurs de la Saudi Pro League. Une belle première saison du Fennec sous ses nouvelles couleurs d’Al Ahli, qui occupe la 3e place du championnat avec 52 points, derrière les ogres d’Al Nassr (2e, 68 pts) et d’Al Hilal (1er, 77 pts).

En 27 matchs joués cette saison dans le championnat d’élite saoudien, l’Algérien de 33 ans est déjà impliqué directement dans 21 buts, soit 9 buts marqués et 12 offrandes. En revanche, le meilleur buteur africain de ce championnat reste le Marocain d’Al Ittihad, Abderrazzaq Hamed-Allah, avec 18 réalisations. Ce dernier devance le Camerounais Georges-Kévin Nkoudou Mbida (Damak, 15 buts) et le Zambien Fashon Sakala (Fayha, 14 buts).

Pour rappel, Riyad Mahrez a déjà remporté le trophée du meilleur joueur arabe de l’année décerné par El Heddaf, après son titre de champion d’Angleterre 2016 avec Leicester City. Il sera certainement un prétendant sérieux cette saison pour cette distinction honorifique des pays arabes.
