C’est un secret de polichinelle. Les choses vont très vite en football. Alors qu’il était annoncé en partance l’été dernier, le jeune milieu de terrain international sénégalais Pape Matar Sarr connaît une très bonne première partie de saison sous les commandes du technicien greco-australien Ange Postecoglou. Tottenham veut ainsi revaloriser le Lion du Sénégal. 

Après une première saison très difficile, Pape Matar Sarr s’est complètement métamorphosé sous la direction du technicien greco-australien Ange Postecoglou, formant avec le Malien Yves Bissouma l’un des meilleurs duos de la Premier League. Le joueur de 21 ans, qui a pris une nouvelle dimension, devrait être bientôt revalorisé à la hauteur de ses performances. 

Actuellement, Pape Matar Sarr gagne 10 000 livres sterling par semaine (plus de 7,6 millions FCFA), soit la moitié que touche l’international français Taguy NDombele, prêté jusqu’à la fin de la saison à Galatasaray, dans la Süper Lig turque. Une situation qui devrait bientôt être redressée au profit du champion d’Afrique. 

Auteur d’1 but et de 2 passes décisives en 15 matchs toutes compétitions confondues cette saison, Pape Matar Sarr est encore sous contrat avec Tottenham jusqu’en juin 2026. Sa valeur marchande est actuellement de 35 millions d’euros (environ 23 milliards FCFA), selon les estimations de Transfermarkt.
