Burkina Faso-Sénégal : quelle association dans l’entrejeu des Lions ?

Pape Guèye et Pape Matar Sarr

Comme sur les routes à Bamako, il y a un embouteillage monstre dans l’entrejeu des Lions. Pape Thiaw va se triturer les méninges pour composer son milieu contre le Burkina Faso ce jeudi au stade du 26 mars. Dans un 4-2-3-1 ou un 4-3-3.

Au début de son règne en équipe nationale, Aliou Cissé a rapidement fait confiance au trio Cheikhou Kouyaté, Idrissa Gana et Mohamed Diamé qui a été son premier capitaine. Et lorsque ce dernier a décidé de prendre sa retraite, le brassard est revenu à Cheikhou, son soldat. Cissé ne se cassait plus les méninges, les autres milieux Kouli Diop et consorts n’étaient là que pour compenser. C’est ainsi que Alfred Ndiaye, Pape Alioune Ndiaye et Henri Saivet ont pu sur des périodes être le 3e larron de l’entrejeu.

Ces dernières années, coach Aliou, obligé de reconstruire et repartir sur un nouveau cycle a eu l’embarras du choix. Il y a en effet embouteillage dans l’entrejeu. Et Pape Thiaw a hérité de cette ‘’abondance de biens’’. Dans sa première liste en tant que sélectionneur intérimaire, il y a huit joueurs qui figurent dans ce compartiment même si Ibrahima Seck de l’US Gorée est plutôt un attaquant excentré et que Krépin Diatta postule désormais à une place comme arrière droit.

Il reste alors six joueurs pour deux ou trois postes selon le système que mettra en place Pape Thiaw. Le technicien devrait certainement être obligé de se passer de Lamine Camara, un des plus prometteurs joueurs de cette équipe et avec qui il a longtemps cheminé en sélection locale. Le joueur de Monaco souffre de douleurs aux adducteurs. Mardi, il a écourté sa séance d’entrainement et hier mercredi il a juste fait un léger footing avec El Hadj Ousseynou Diouf.

Parmi les 5 autres, Pape Guèye est celui qui commence à bien s’installer. Lorsqu’il est apte, il est systématiquement dans le Onze. Son profil est unique dans cet effectif. Gaucher, il est capable d’évoluer seul en sentinelle dans un 4-3-3 mais aussi en relayeur ou dans un double pivot sur un 4-2-3-1. Il est indispensable dans la fluidité du jeu sénégalais et il se montre parfois efficace dans la finition avec sa belle frappe de balle à l’entrée de la surface. « Je suis arrivé en sélection sur la pointe des pieds et maintenant je commence à avoir plus de temps de jeu », a-t-il dit en conférence de presse de veille de match.

Adepte du 4-2-3-1, Pape Thiaw pourrait lui adjoindre dans l’entrejeu Pape Matar Sarr ou encore Idrissa Gana Guèye avec qui l’ancien capitaine du Havre AC commence à tisser une très grande relation en dehors du terrain. Malgré son âge, IGG garde toujours un volume de jeu impressionnant. Il continue de gratter des ballons en Premier League. Sa place dans le Onze des Lions est toutefois moins assurée qu’avant car PMS offre un plus grand atout dans le jeu de combinaison. Le milieu de Tottenham sait jouer avec ses coéquipiers. Sa force est d’être un liant, une courroie pour toute l’équipe. Il lui faut juste être plus présent dans la finition comme il l’a fait le mois dernier avec les Spurs.

S’il décide de répondre au défi que pourraient apporter les Burkinabè, Pape Thiaw va certainement reconduire Habib Diarra comme titulaire. Le Strasbourgeois est un pur box to box, capable de répéter les efforts, bien défendre et participer à la construction des actions offensives. C’est un costaud. Cette obligera toutefois Pape Thiaw à faire un choix en attaque entre Nicolas Jackson et Boulaye Dia.
