Coupe CAF – L’ambitieux Souleymane Cissé parle : “L’objectif est d’atteindre la finale”

Auteur d’un triplé qui a offert la victoire au Jaraaf contre East End Lions FC de la Sierra Leone (3-0), Souleymane Cissé compte mettre tous les atouts de son côté pour aider son équipe à accéder en finale de la Coupe CAF, après la Jeanne d’Arc en 1998.

Meilleur buteur du championnat sénégalais de la précédente édition avec 10 buts, Souleymane Cissé a confirmé tout le bien qu’on attendait de lui, dimanche 25 août 2024, sur la pelouse du stade Lat Dior de Thiès contre East End Lions FC.

L’attaquant des Médinois a réalisé un triplé, égalant ainsi le record (sous l’ère professionnelle en interclubs) de l’attaquant de Génération Foot Amadou Dia Ndiaye contre RS Berkane (3-1) en 16e de finale de la Coupe CAF, en 2018.

“ça fait plaisir de réaliser un triplé“

“Cela me fait plaisir de réaliser un triplé. Et cela fait plaisir à tout le monde aussi. On s’attendait à cette victoire. Et il fallait qu’on le fasse. Dieu nous a aidé. On l’a travaillé durant la semaine. On a concrétisé tout cela. Le premier match était un peu difficile. Nous avons marqué vers les dernières minutes (1-0, 75e minute). Pour ce match, nous avons beaucoup travaillé. Le coach nous a beaucoup galvanisés. C’est pourquoi, dès l’entame du match, nous avons tout donné. Nous avons eu très tôt une occasion que j’ai marquée. Le but matinal, inscrit à la deuxième minute, nous a libérés», souligne le serial killer des Médinois.

L’ancien attaquant de la Linguère souligne que le fait de “marquer très tôt est une habitude” chez lui. “Je n’avais pas de pression avant le match. En championnat, j’inscrivais très tôt les buts. Cela ne me surprend pas. J’étais prêt à tout moment. C’est pourquoi, j’ai très tôt concrétisé l’occasion que j’ai obtenue pour me libérer et libérer aussi les coéquipiers pour qu’on puisse avoir confiance”, répète-t-il.

“Je serai très attendu, je le sais“

Après cette prestation XXL, Souleymane Cissé sera sans doute un élément à surveiller par ses prochains adversaires et il en est conscient. “Pour moi, rien n’est encore fait. Je n’écoute pas ce que disent les gens. En rentrant, je vais me reposer et reprendre les entraîneurs. Je serai très attendu, je le sais. On va se préparer. Je dois me battre aussi pour aider l’équipe à accéder en phase de groupes”, déclare le joueur.

“L’objectif n’est pas d’aller faire du tourisme. On est là pour chercher quelque chose. Nous avons l’effectif et le staff technique qu’il faut. Ils (les dirigeants) nous encadrent très bien. L’ambition est d’aller en finale. Et Inch’Allah, on le fera”, promet Souleymane Cissé qui avait rejoint le Jaraaf en stage de préparation, après des tests non concluants en Europe.

Le Jaraaf sera reçu  par le Racing club d’Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), lors du deuxième tour aller (13 au 15 septembre), avant de recevoir la manche retour programmée du 20 au 22 septembre 2024.
