CAN Beach soccer : Le Sénégal à l'assaut de la Guinée pour la qualif'

Quadruple champion en titre, le Sénégal vise une 5e couronne en Egypte. Les Lions sont logés dans la même poule que le Mozambique, le Malawi et la Mauritanie. Le tirage au sort a été effectué ce jeudi 19 septembre au Caire.

Depuis sa chute à Madagascar en 2015 en finale contre les Malgaches, le Sénégal s’est bien relevé et trône sans partage sur le continent. Les Lions ont remporté les quatre dernières éditions. Pour conserver une nouvelle fois le trophée les Lions devront d’abord sortir de la poule B où sont également logés le Mozambique, le Malawi et la Mauritanie.

Ngalla Sylla et ses joueurs connaissent bien le Mozambique devenu nation forte du beach soccer africain ces dernières années. En 2021 à Saly, les Mozambicains sont allés jusqu’en finale. Une finale perdue face au Sénégal. Organisateur de l’édition 2022, le Mozambique a terminé quatrième perdant le match pour la médaille de bronze contre le Maroc entrainé à l’époque par Ngalla Sylla.

Les Lions feront également face aux Mauritaniens qui découvrent la compétition mais qui ont éliminé le Nigeria pour se qualifier. Ils ont aussi disputé trois matchs amicaux difficiles contre le Sénégal avec deux succès et une défaite.

Cette 7e édition de la CAN de beach soccer a lieu du 19 au 26 octobre 2024 à Hurghada en Égypte. Les deux finalistes se qualifient à la Coupe du monde 2025.
