Dix ans après son passage raté sur le banc du Jaraaf, Amara Traoré signe son come-back à la Linguère. Là où tout a commencé. Avec le défi de se refaire une seconde vie comme coach et dans le but de sauver son club de cœur.

Amara Traoré fait son retour dans le circuit. Coacher, c’est un peu le rêve de sa vie. La situation de ces dernières années a cependant fait qu’il a dû scruter d’autres fonctions autour du football : manager général, président et même propriétaire d’une académie.

D’ailleurs, même pour le come-back, le club et le technicien ont veillé à ne pas mettre ‘’entraîneur’’ tout court. Il a été nommé « manager sportif et responsable de l’équipe professionnelle » de la Linguère de Saint-Louis.

« Il ne veut pas se limiter au rôle d’entraîneur. Il veut être un manager à l’anglaise. Celui qui contrôle tout. Qui a regard sur la politique sportive du club, la formation, le recrutement, les transferts…», explique un de ses proches. Il sera assisté dans son nouveau rôle par Aziz Wade et Samba Ndiaye.

Sa première vie d’entraîneur fut marquée par une ascension fulgurante et une chute brutale. Après une éphémère aventure comme sélectionneur adjoint d’Abdoulaye Sarr à la CAN 2006, il était rentré au bercail avec le défi de relever sa Linguère qui sombrait dans l’agonie. Il le réussit avec brio. Les Saint-Louisiens, en moins de trois ans, retrouvent l’élite du football sénégalais, remportent la Coupe du Sénégal 2007 et la Ligue 1 2009.

Des exploits qui ouvrent les portes de la sélection A à Amara. L’envol est rapide, ses Lions survolent les qualifications de la CAN 2012 mais en Guinée équatoriale, ils connaîtront le plus grand crash de l’histoire du Sénégal en phase finale de Coupe d’Afrique des nations. Trois matchs, trois défaites 2-1, un licenciement après ce gros fiasco. Cette catastrophe de Bata devient un tournant de sa carrière d’entraîneur. L’ouragan qui ravageait tout sur son passage n’est plus prophète chez lui.

Amara Traoré s’exile en Guinée pour rebondir. Même si ce ne fut pas un échec, ce n’était pas non plus une grande réussite. Son retour d’exil sur le banc du Jaraaf sera par contre un revers sans appel. Amara Traoré ne tient sur le banc que 9 journées. Il jette l’éponge après une défaite 1-0 à Saly devant Diambars.

Avec ce retour à la Linguère où tout a commencé, l’ancien attaquant de Geugnon tentera donc de se refaire une seconde vie en sauvant son club de cœur de l’agonie. Les Saint-Lousiens sont relégables avec 1 victoire, 6 nuls et 4 défaites en 11 journées.
