Votre première fois en équipe nationale locale ?
C’est l’année dernière avant les matchs de qualification au CHAN. On venait de jouer un match amical entre mon équipe US Gorée et la sélection locale. C’est le jour-là que le sélectionneur Souleymane Diallo m’a repéré. Après, il a contacté Olivier Kabou, entraineur adjoint de Aly Male pour lui demander mon vrai nom et m’inscrire sur sa liste. Tout a commencé là. Olivier m’a appelé pour me dire que le coach a demandé de mes nouvelles. Quelques jours après, j’étais présélectionné. J’avais une petite pression car c’était ma première fois. Comme on dit, ce n’est jamais facile de débuter. Ce n’était donc pas évident les premiers jours mais les autres m’ont bien adopté. Ma famille et mes amis étaient heureux. J’ai participé aux deux matchs de qualification contre le Liberia et j’ai même marqué.
La première fois que vous avez marqué un but avec Gorée ?
Je n’ai pas encore marqué de but à l’US Gorée. Seulement des passes décisives. Je fais beaucoup plus de passes. Mais je travaille beaucoup la finition pour marquer. Je fais de mon mieux sur le terrain, et à l’entraînement mais l’essentiel c’est de gagner peu importe celui marque si l’équipe gagne. Toutefois je travaille énormément la finition.
Votre premier trophée au football ?
C’était en cadets avec mon club formateur Dakar Sacré. Une finale régionale que nous avons remportée contre l’AF Darou Salam. On avait gagné (5-2). Je n’étais pas titulaire. Je suis entré en seconde période. C’était un match facile pour nous même si dans l’autre équipe il y avait de très bons joueurs comme comme les jumeaux Ousseynou et Assane Cavin Diagne. Nous avions dans notre équipe des joueurs comme Idrissa Camara (actuellement en Turquie) et Valentin Gomis de l’US Ouakam.
La première fois que le discours d’un coach vous a surmotivé ?
Contre Guediawaye FC lors de la 15e journée le discours d’Aly Male m’a beaucoup touché. Dans les vestiaires avant le match, il m’a dit devant tous les coéquipiers que je devais être le leader de l’attaque. Ce qui voulait dire qu’il me faisait confiance. C’était très important pour moi de savoir qu’il avait confiance en moi. J’ai tout donné mais malheureusement, on a perdu (1-0). Dieu l’a voulu ainsi. Mais son discours m’avait vraiment touché. Je ne l’oublierai jamais. J’y pense tout le temps.
La première fois que vous avez raté un transfert ?
C’était en 2020 avant le Covid-19. J’étais à AFA dans un club de régional. Je devais aller en France dans un club de National 3. Mais je n’ai pas reçu mon passeport à temps. C’était difficile. C’était la première fois qu’on me proposait un voyage et ça a échoué. Cela m’a beaucoup déstabilisé. En plus je devais y aller avec un coéquipier qui était notre gardien de but. Finalement, lui il est parti et moi suis resté. Après cela, j’ai décidé de changer de club.
La dernière fois que vous vous êtes disputé sur un terrain ?
Je n’ai pas l’habitude de me disputer sur un terrain. Mais lors de notre match contre Ajel, j’ai eu une petite altercation avec un coéquipier, notre latéral droit Elhadji Diop. Il avait fait une touche et n’a pas bougé je lui ai crié dessus pour lui demander de se déplacer. On a échangé quelques mots mais juste après on est passé à autre chose. Ça arrive dans le foot avec l’envie de gagner.
Le dernier attaquant vous a impressionné ?
Celui qui m’a le plus impressionné c’était Idrissa Guèye l’année dernière avec Génération foot. Sa façon de se déplacer, sa puissance et son efficacité devant les buts, les duels aériens je peux dire qu’il est complet, et c’est un gamin. Il m’a beaucoup impressionné. Je le suis à Metz et je prie beaucoup pour lui que Dieu l’épargne des blessures et qu’il continue de performer. Il sera un grand attaquant inchallah.
Votre dernière fois à DSC ?
J’ai appris beaucoup de choses à DSC. C’est mon club formateur. Ils m’ont appris plein de choses au-delà du football. La vie en général. J’ai beaucoup de souvenirs là-bas.
Le dernier gros match que vous avez fait ?
C’était en équipe nationale locale contre Liberia en qualifications de la CHAN au stade Abdoulaye Wade de Diamniadio. J’avais fait un gros match. C’était un match important pour notre qualification. Le Sénégal est champion d’Afrique en titre et on voulait vraiment se qualifier pour aller défendre notre titre. On a bien joué et on a gagné (3-0). L’objectif de qualification est atteint.
La dernière fois que vous avez pleuré ?
La dernière fois que j’ai pleuré, c’était, il me semble, en 2022. Mon ancienne équipe Builders FC jouait contre Dakar FC en 8e de finale Coupe du Sénégal au Stade Alassane Djigo. J’ai reçu un gros coup sur le nez et le sang coulait. Je ne pouvais plus continuer ce match important. J’ai commencé à pleurer.
