L’équipe nationale U20 du Sénégal a remporté le match de la 3e place face à son homologue du Congo, ce vendredi 22 mars 2024, à Accra Sports stadium, lors de la 13e édition des Jeux africains, à Accra, capitale du Ghana.
À défaut d’or, le Sénégal U20 s’offre la médaille de bronze. Les Lionceaux du Sénégal ont remporté de haute lutte ce match de classement devant les Congolais.
Les partenaires du capitaine Serigne Fallou Diouf ont fait la décision en seconde période, après un score blanc lors de la première partie de la rencontre.
L’attaquant de Génération Foot, Idrissa Guèye, a ouvert le score à la 74e minute (1-0), avant d’être imité par l’attaquant de Diambars, Mame Alassane Niang, dans le money-time (2-0, 90’+2).
Ainsi, le Grenat Idrissa Guèye devient le meilleur buteur sénégalais dans cette compétition avec trois buts inscrits.
Globalement, le sélectionneur Serigne Saliou Dia, vainqueur de l’édition 2015, et ses protégés enregistrent trois victoires et deux revers, pour 6 buts marqués et 4 buts encaissés.
