Natif de Keur Massar à Dakar, Pape Cabral (17 ans) est un jeune milieu central très prometteur. Disposant également d’un passeport français, Il est d’ailleurs international tricolore U17. Il ne ferme toutefois pas définitivement la porte à son pays d’origine. Pape Cabral est considéré comme un des très grands espoirs de l’AS Monaco.
Formé à Mainvilliers, Pape Cabral a remporté la Coupe Gambardella avec Monaco 2023, en s’imposant 4-2 face à Clermont. Il s’est même illustré au cours de cette finale en inscrivant le dernier but. Depuis, le milieu central franco-sénégalais ne cesse de continuer à réaliser de bonnes choses avec les jeunes de l’AS Monaco.
À 17 ans, il dispose d’un volume de jeu impressionnant. La récupération, la précision des passes qui cassent les lignes… il faut le découvrir pour en savoir plus. Un profil atypique, qu’on peut facilement assimiler au champion du monde français Ngolo Kanté. Réputé pour couvrir toute la pelouse lors d’un match, enchaînant tacles, pression défensive et interceptions.
Tour de contrôle des U19 nationaux de l’AS Monaco, il participe cette saison à 18 matchs, soit 1 538 minutes jouées. Il voudrait désormais franchir un nouveau palier à partir de la saison prochaine. Cabral aspire à signer son premier contrat professionnel avec le club monégasque et faire ses grands débuts dans l’élite hexagonale.
