Casa Sports, un effectif flambant neuf pour redorer le blason (6/16)

Casa Sports saison 2024-2025

De sa création en 1969 à 2009 qui marque le début du professionnalisme, Casa Sports n’avait qu’un seul petit trophée. C’est la fameuse Coupe du Sénégal de 1979 qui est « rentrée au pays ». Désormais l’armoire est bien garnie. Le club de Ziguinchor fait en effet partie des locomotives du football sénégalais.

Casa Sports, une locomotive du football local

Ces 15 dernières années, il est le club qui a le plus gagné avec deux titres de champion (2012 et 2022), deux Coupes de la Ligue (2010, 2013) et deux Coupes du Sénégal (2011, 2021 et 2022) en plus de 4 finales perdues. La saison passée par contre, les Sudistes ont vécu une de leurs pires campagnes. Tous les cadres de la génération qui a régné sous Ansou Diadhiou partis, ils ont flirté avec la relégation du début à la fin et même retenu leur souffle des jours après la fin du championnat. Et en Coupe du Sénégal, Casa a été prématurément éliminé par le Jaraaf. Cette dure transition ne plait pas aux dirigeants. Ils veulent rapidement reconstruire et revenir au sommet.

Pour y parvenir, le Casa Sports a pratiquement un nouvel effectif. Ils ont été très actifs dans le marché des transferts. Sans pour autant attirer de grosses pointures. Les 17 recrues signées apparaissent beaucoup plus comme des paris. Des joueurs qu’il faut aider à grandir. La stratégie sera-t-elle payante ? En tout cas le club est réputé pour sa capacité à lancer très fréquemment des talents.

Balla Djiba maitre d’œuvre de la reconstruction

La mission a été confiée à Balla Djiba. Le technicien a une grande particularité. Il n’a jamais effectué une saison pleine en Ligue 1. Arrivé en cours de saison sur le banc de Génération Foot lors de la saison 2022-2023, il a réalisé une Remontada exceptionnelle, hissant les Grenats de la 11e place au titre de champion du Sénégal. Il n’a cependant pas confirmé sa phase retour incroyable puisqu’il sera rapidement démis de ses fonctions la saison passée. Il a d’ailleurs terminé l’exercice dans le staff technique du Casa Sports. Djiba a donc eu le temps de s’acclimater au club, lui qui aura passé ces dernières années à Déni Biram Ndao.

Bye-Bye Kolda, bonjour Dakar en attendant Ziguinchor

Alors que la réfection du stade Aline Sitoé Diatta n’est pas encore totalement terminée, le Casa Sports a décidé de ne pas retourner à Kolda. Comme en 2013, le déménagement dans cette région ne leur a pas porté bonheur.

D’après le président du Casa Sports, l’année dernière, ses joueurs, le staff technique et supporters ont souffert des déplacements. «Il faut jouer à Kolda, revenir à Ziguinchor, voyager à Dakar et revenir à Ziguinchor. Nous avons fait plus de 20.000 kilomètres l’année dernière. Les jeunes étaient très fatigués, par moments», a fait savoir le dirigeant.

«Nous avons 11 équipes qui sont à Dakar. Si nous jouons, par exemple, la première journée à Kolda, la journée qui suit, nous jouons contre HLM à Dakar. Autant donc rester à Dakar jusqu’au moment où le stade Aline Sitoé Diatta sera mis à la disposition du Casa Sports. Pour que nous puissions, non seulement au plan financier, maîtriser nos moyens, mais permettre aussi aux joueurs de récupérer», a-t-il souligné.
