Sadio Mané (40e) est le seul Sénégalais – le 2e Africain – présent dans le top 50 des sportifs les mieux payés en 2023-2024, dévoilé par Forbes, ce jeudi. Ses revenus sur la période considérée, entre le 1er mai 2023 et le 1 mai 2024, sont estimés à 52 millions de dollars (31,6 milliards FCFA).
Le Sénégalais Sadio Mané et l’Égyptien Mohamed Salah (38e – 53 millions de dollars, 32,2 milliards FCFA) sont les seuls Africains qui figurent dans ce top 50 de Forbes.
Les deux ex-coéquipiers à Liverpool ont cependant gagné presque 5 fois moins que Cristiano Ronaldo (260 millions de dollars, environ 158 milliards) et le golfeur espagnol Jon Rahm (218 millions, plus de 132 milliards).
Le Portugais, qui retrouve la première place, domine largement l’Argentin Lionel Messi (135 millions de dollars, un peu plus de 82 milliards), qui ferme le podium.
Pour établir ce classement, Forbes distingue les revenus issus du terrain (on-filed) : salaires, prize money, bonus, certains droits d’images liés aux clubs… Mais aussi les revenus en dehors des terrains (off-field) comprenant les contrats sponsoring, représentations, licensing ainsi que les éventuelles reventes de parts de société.
Le Sénégalais Sadio Mané devance de grands noms comme le boxeur anglais Tyson Fury (42e – 50 millions de dollars, 30,4 milliards), le basketteur américain Anthony Davis (47e – 46,2 millions de dollars, environ 28 milliards).
C’est le meneur-arrière des Suns de Phoenix, Devin Booker (45,2 millions de dollars, 27,5 milliards FCFA), qui ferme ce top 50 de Forbes.
