Après la victoire contre le Bénin (1-0), Aliou Cissé a fait un petit bilan des deux rencontres. Pour lui, le plus important était surtout de donner du temps de jeu aux nouveaux.
Au départ, 31 joueurs ont été convoqués pour ce rassemblement de mars. Mais avant de rallier Amiens, Aliou Cissé avait perdu Mamadou Lamine Camara (RS Berkane) et Fodé Ballo-Touré (Fulham), respectivement remplacés par Rassoul Ndiaye et Mikayil Ngor Faye.
Touchés à l’entraînement, Arouna Sanganté, Pape Guèye et Abdoulaye Niakhaté Ndiaye n’ont pas eu la chance de disputer la moindre minute. Blessé en club, Abdou Diallo n’a pas pu faire le déplacement.
Sur les deux matchs, Aliou Cissé a quasiment utilisé tous les joueurs qui étaient à sa disposition à Amiens, excepté Edouard Mendy qui s’est blessé à la veille de la rencontre face au Bénin.
« Ce n’est jamais facile d’avoir 31 joueurs, mais l’était d’esprit a été bonne. On a bien travaillé à l’entraînement. Dans l’ensemble, ce n’est pas mal. Gagner des matchs est toujours bon pour le moral. Une bonne chose par rapport à ce qui nous attend en juin », a déclaré Aliou Cissé.
« Il y a des joueurs qui ont marqué des points, ça rajoute plus de concurrence, de qualité et de quantité dans notre équipe. Cela nous permettra de puiser dans notre réservoir en cas de blessures. J’ai eu ce que je voulais dans ces deux matchs. C’était important de donner du temps de jeu à tout le monde, de voir de nouveaux joueurs », a ajouté Cissé.
« Au delà des deux victoires, il y a eu de l’ambiance, et c’était important de retrouver cela après ce qui s’est passé en Côte d’Ivoire. Les garçons étaient venus très motivés. C’est de bon augure pour la suite ».
